Firefighter Sergio Villanueva Endowed Memorial Scholarship at Hofstra University
Assists student-athletes in realizing their goal of attending college and playing Division 1 soccer. Current endowment is over $375,000. Currently provides ½ scholarship for both Men’s and Women’s program on an annual basis.

“A Common Goal” Barclays Capital Soccer Challenge
Annual soccer tournament featuring the FDNY Soccer club, NYPD Soccer Club, Barclays UK and Barclays US Soccer Club. A return match was played at England’s famed Harrow on the Hill School in 2004.
The Bravest Men vs. The Best Women
Friendly played against 1991 US Women’s World Cup Team including Mia Hamm, Julie Foudy, Kristen Lilly, Joy Fawcett as well as Included Youth Soccer Clinic. Attendance 2,124. Sponsored by Phillips.
Community Outreach
Annual Soccer Clinics for 9/11 families as well as underprivileged children and handicapped adults at Hofstra University. Sponsored by Barclay’s Capital.
Liverpool Football Academy Youth Soccer week
Youth Clinic conducted by the FDNY Soccer Club and Liverpool Football Club for New York City youth. Sponsored by Reebok.
FLYBE Football Festival
Charity Soccer Tournament held at St. James Park, Exter City, UK featuring Exter City Football Club, ExterCity Legends, Italian Masters, and FDNY Soccer Club. FDNY Soccer Club conducted Youth Soccer Clinic and Town Lecture. Raised over $10,000 (UK) for the UKFallen Firefighters Fund. Sponsored by FLYBE.
Played Exhibition in opening 2004 World Firefighter Games
Sheffield, UK versus UK Fire Service Champion South Yorkshire Fire Brigade. Proceeds benefited the Sergio Villanueva Endowed memorial Scholarship Foundation.
